The Blueys shocking run in the second round continued under lights as they faded badly to go down to AG 33-13 at Lappo. The match was between second and third and for sixty minutes just just how it was played, tight and hard with neither side giving an inch, with two Danny Kroll penalties seeing us in front 6-3,then at the hour mark, virtually in the blink of an eye,AG scored an amazing three tries in the space of ten minutes at the clubhouse end and it was all over.Danny scored a converted try late, but the horse had bolted, and the side for the first time this year the team finds itself under real pressure to maintain its semi spot. Those who made some impression included Matt Green,Daniel Farrugia, and of course Krolly in his comeback game, however,it certainly wasnt a great finish to what had been otherwise a great day for the Blueys.

Seconds ground their way out to a 12-3 win over the visitors who put up an unexpected fight in what was an entertaining and hard fought game of Rugby. In what could be aptly named the Paul Danby show the mature age forward was in devastating form, and was easily the best player on the paddock, defying father time again. The Blueys as a result of this fixture are hanging on to fourth spot and will be under the pump in the last two games to hold their spot, but that kind of situation has been second nature to them in 2017 and they will be trying all the way.

Both colts and fourths won by forfiet, while thirds gave themselves a sniff still at a semi spot with a crushing 40-3 victory. The Blueys were on fire from the opening whistle and the result was never in doubt, with a rampaging pack of forwards and classy backs dominating all over then park.Chris “kiwi” Lukins was awe inspiring and played some magic Rugby giving the whole AG side, both backs and forwards nightmares the entire match. The side has an uphill task to be there semi time, not only do they have to win their remaining games, but rely on other teams falling by the wayside, but look out if they make it!

The day started with the annual clash between fifths and Mosman, the Blueys led out by 40th birthday boy Brett Smith. The visitors started really well and by halftime led 8-5,but a stinging and emotional speech from showbags got the boys on their way and they powered home to run  out 22-11 winners .Amongst a gallery of stars of yesteryear it was hard to go past Travis Leslie as man of the match, topping of his effort with two tries, while Tommy Pittman provided one of the highlights with a sensational conversion that would have even seen Nathan Cleary humbled!
